International DRR day celebration in Myanmar

To mark the International DRR Day, an event was held on October 13th in Myanmar's capital with the participation of Margareta Wahlstrom. The event was led by RRD (Relief and Resettlement Department).

UNDP awarded the winners of the essay competition for IDDRR.

Over 100 children from local schools attended. Plan International, Care, Oxfam, UNDO and UNESCO together with the Ministry of Education prepared an information sheet on IDDRR for school-aged children that was distributed across the country.

41,000 schools and 6,00 hospitals and health facilities pledged for safety
