The United Nations University - Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) in close collaboration with the University of Bonn invite young scientists to apply for the 2012 PhD Block Course.

Main objectives of the course are to increase the awareness regarding the complexity and importance of vulnerability and resilience in the field of disaster risk management and to explore options to reduce vulnerability and risk by improved adaptive capacities.

What is included in the event fee

Travel expenses, local transportation, hotel accommodation and daily subsistence will not be covered by UNU-EHS.

Target audience

The PhD Block Course is designed for postgraduate candidate in the early stages of PhD research or about to start their PhD studies and advanced Master's degree students. Candidates should have a Master's degree in geography, economics, social science, engineering, anthropology, environmental and/or natural science or related disciplines, and basic experience in vulnerability, risk and/or disaster management.
