The curriculum is based on earlier successful courses in New York, Geneva, Kampala and London. The course will aim to provide a practical orientation and training, to equip mental health professionals to establish and organize programs in the mental health and psychosocial domains and strengthen adjunct applicable skills for use in complex humanitarian emergency and relief situations, including conflict, post conflict and disaster settings.

The total cost of the MHCE course includes tuition fees, course materials, accommodation, and weekday meals.
This is a multi-disciplinary training program for students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. All participants are required to have a university degree and to be at least 25 years old. Preference will be given to students with humanitarian field experience, emergency or development.
MHCE applicants should have a foundation in either mental health or social work, a relevant professional background that allows for future engagement in mental health or psychosocial programs in complex emergencies, or previous experience in humanitarian settings, ideally in mental health or psychosocial realms.
