This meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn in Suva, Fiji on 4th and 5th June 2012.\n\n\n\nThe regional meeting will have selected participation of senior representatives from Pacific Island countries and territories, regional organizations, donors and development partners. The recently completed Pacific Regional Policy and Practice Note on Climate and Disaster Resilient Development (PPN) will help inform the dialogue.\n\n\n\nThe PPN contains practice guidance and lessons learned from recent Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction experience in the region and is based on extensive consultations with Pacific countries and territories as well as with donor and regional organization partners. It has been subjected to rigorous technical and high-level policy peer review as well as the internal review and decision processes of the World Bank.\n\n\n\nThe overall objective for the meeting is to bring together key, relevant stakeholders and actors to discuss the utility of the PPN, including its key messages, as a catalyst for both organizational as well as collective efforts to progress the integration of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, as well as to discuss opportunities and options for how we may focus future efforts to achieve climate and disaster resilient development in the Pacific at local, national and regional levels.\n\n\n\nThe occasion would also allow for further, crucial discussions on the implementation of the Roadmap Toward a Post 2015 Integrated Regional Strategy for Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation &amp; Mitigation, in the Pacific.\n\nAdditional information\nhttp://www.gfdrr.org/gfdrr/node/1199\n\nTarget audience\nTargeting those senior representatives from Pacific Island countries and territories, regional organizations, donors and development partners.\n\nHow to register\nPlease contact Christina Irene.\n\n
