This lesson complements Activity 1 of 2 as it provides students with the opportunity to learn about the advantages and limitations of the earthquake machine model while discovering the causes of earthquakes and then extending their understanding about earthquake generation, occurrence, and prediction through the collection, and interpretation of data.
