The Himalayan region is highly susceptible to natural hazards such as floods, flash floods, landslides, and earthquakes and populated areas are highly vulnerable. This leaflet presents the ICIMOD project "Living with risks - sharing knowledge on disaster preparedness in the Himalayan region" (the mountains of Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan) that supports key practitioners with current knowledge in the field of disaster preparedness - mainly for floods, landslides and earthquakes - and building capacity in multi-hazards risk assessment, as well as providing a platform for interaction and exchange of experiences.
