This course aims to further enhance the skills, knowledge and proficiency of disaster risk reduction practitioners to advocate and communicate on disaster risk reduction. Participants will explore the meaning of advocacy and the role it plays in disaster risk reduction. They will learn how advocacy is about speaking for others, working with others and supporting others to speak for themselves, and the role of the disaster risk reduction practitioner in this process.
