This book is an outcome of the 'Disaster risk reduction through school' project in Nepal, a multi-country project designed by ActionAid International to reduce people’s vulnerability to natural hazards and to contribute to the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) by making schools in high-risk areas safer, enabling schools to act as a locus for disaster risk reduction (DRR); and engaging the education sector in the HFA.
Nepal has incorporated DRR in curriculum during 2008 -2009 and already appeared DRR course lesson in the Text book. The book is developed as Resource Book and Guide book for School Disaster Preparedness Class Teachers in Nepal.
