MASHLM is a part-time executive program intended for humanitarian professionals seeking to advance their managerial, analytical and decision making skills, and to formalize and extend their practical competences.
MASHLM program provides humanitarian organizations with the tools and methods allowing them to improve quality of their operations, and develops and implements high quality applied research.
MASHLM is designed to meet the real needs of today’s humanitarian practitioners by providing a balanced mix of academic and practical teaching. Course work is applied, with traditional lectures complemented by games, workshops, simulations, and case studies.
Courses are held during 7 two-week sessions, conducted over a 2-year period. Each two-week session hosts 4 courses. This flexible part-time structure allows students to continue working full-time while earning their degree.
In total, participants attend 26 courses, divided in 4 broad academic areas, and work on an applied thesis. The MASHLM program grants participants 60 ECTS (the equivalent of a full year of academic study). A new group of participants start every January.
Among many other topics, the themes will include Disaster and Emergency Management and Innovation in Climate Risk Management.
MASHLM participants come from different parts of the world, work for diverse organizations in very different environments. Their diverse cultural backgrounds, wide ranging professional experience, and passion for the program combine to provide a uniquely rich learning experience.
Applications are welcome from individuals with at least three years of relevant humanitarian work experience, and a Bachelor degree or an equivalent professional diploma.
The total tuition cost is 18.000 CHF
Your application will be reviewed on an on-going basis until all places are filled. Courses for the next edition begin in January.
