The unit of Geological Risk at the University of Geneva offers a specialization certificate on the assessment and management of geological and climate related risk. The overall objective of this course is to train participants on how to incorporate risk science into everyday life in an attempt to reduce losses to an acceptable level. Crucial component of our program include training participants on how to assess risk and how to communicate effectively with government agencies, media, public and private sectors before, during and after natural disasters.
It is a multidisciplinary in-site training offering a stimulating learning frame, field immersions associated with various hazards and an enriching training environment due to the multi-cultural participation as well as the diverse academic and occupation backgrounds from the trainees and the trainers.
Graduate degree in various fields of Earth Sciences (i.e Geology, Geography and Geotechnics), Civil Engineering, Land planning or other fields with relevant professional experience.
