DPMM is an interdisciplinary academic program at AIT that aims to produce high quality of professionals for better contribution in disaster preparedness, mitigation and management. DPMM works closely with its partners/collaborators to enhance a much wider understanding and knowledge sharing from the international to local level. The program graduates will be ready to play leading roles in developing appropriate disaster management policies, strategies and techniques as well as in raising awareness in communities to protect people from the increasing disasters and helping build resilient communities.
DPMM works closely with its partners/collaborators namely, Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok, The Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES), Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) and United Nations Environment Programme Regional Resource Center for Asia and the Pacific (UNEP.RRCAP) to enhance a much wider understanding and knowledge sharing from the international to local level.
The courses at DPMM are designed and developed by AIT Faculties and experts from partner institutions having more than a decade of experience in this particular field. The program is being successfully run with students from Bangladesh, Canada, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, Sudan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Disaster risk management, Early warning, Remote sensing, GIS, Resilience, Disaster planning, Urban environment planning, Human conflicts, Georisk engineering, Geospatial technology, Climate forecasting.
The target groups of Master’s Degree Program are those who are looking for a career in disaster preparedness, mitigation and management, along with the Faculty and Staff of universities and research institutions. After completing the Master’s Program, students have the advantage of doing further studies in doctoral program in DPMM.
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Potential candidates with engineering, architecture, management, natural and social sciences backgrounds can apply. Those with backgrounds in relevant fields of study or work experiences will be given priority for selection.

Registration Fee Baht 20,000 per semester = Baht 80,000
Tuition Fee Baht 14,000 per semester = Baht 672,000
Applications for admission are accepted regularly throughout the year. To ensure sufficient time for visa processing and other formalities, applications must reach AIT by November 15 for the January semester and June 15 for the August semester.
Those who require scholarships/AIT fellowships must submit complete application before October 15 for the January semester and March 15 for the August Semester.
