The programmes uniquely focus on the issues pertaining to climate change, environmental problems and human settlements. They will equip the participants with appropriate tools and techniques for interpreting the impacts of climate change, and evaluating & implementing measures that reduce vulnerability of systems by becoming environmentally efficient without compromising on the development agenda.
The programmes will impart a regional perspective for the benefit of professional & students in all countries of South Asia, in particular.
- The Masters Programme is divided into four semesters of eighteen weeks each, with focussed modules on different aspects of climate change impacts and their management. The modules are interactive & discussion-oriented. Participants will have to undertake small inter-semester projects, involving field visits and analysis. Summer Internship and Dissertation will also be a part of the programme.
- The Post Graduate Diploma is a 2-semester programme with modules focussing on basics of climate change, tools for adaptation and management of climatic risks. Participants will have to write a research paper to successfully complete their diploma.

The minimum education requirement for the programmes is 10+2+4 for professional course graduates and 10+2+5 for arts and humanities graduates. For candidates from India, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for the general category and 45% aggregate marks for SC/ ST/ OBC categories, in B.E. / B.Tech / B.Arch /B. Plan., or MA / M.Sc. in Geography / Economics / Sociology / Law / Environmental Science / Physics / Atmospheric Sciences or MBA. For candidates from other countries, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or a master’s degree in social sciences, or planning and policy studies is required. Relevant work experience in above fields is desirable.
