Description

This is a two-year graduate programme, which reflects an increasing worldwide concern about the environment and disasters. This programme was conceived in
response to a growing societal need for professional scientists capable of dealing with environmental issues as they may arise in a variety of natural, institutional, industrial and community contexts. The 3 credit course on Disaster and Risk Management is a part of the natural resource management specialisation stream. For details please refer to programme brochure.

Admission Requirement

Candidates with four-year Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or equivalent degree with minimum CGPA of 2.5 or 50 % in aggregate are eligible for admission. Students having four-year education in any science stream, such as Geography, Geology, Agriculture or Forestry after intermediate/+2, or B.E. Civil/ Mechanical are also eligible. Admission is based on the academic promise of applicants as indicated by their academic records, statement of objectives, recommendations, scores on entrance test, proposal for the Master's dissertation and personal interview.

Application Procedure

Application forms can be obtained anytime during the year from the Accounts Section of Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel on payment of NPR 300, either in cash or demand draft payable to KU. Interested students should submit the completed application form along with their credentials, proposal for the dissertation and application-processing fee of NPR 700. Scholarship

Few students of M.Sc. in Environment may avail the research/teaching assistance job while studying to support portion of the study cost, for details please contact School of Science.
