Promoting innovation and evidence-based approaches to building resilience and responding to humanitarian crises

A DFID strategy paper:

This strategy paper sets out how the Government of the United Kingdom plans to transform the way in which DFID and the wider global community approach the humanitarian agenda by proposing new approaches and a framework for investment. It sets out four big problems that the government aims to tackle and provides the results expected from the new approaches and framework. It expects to encourage decision-makers in both developing countries and internationally to invest more in building resilience, because they need to better understand the nature and scale of increasing risk and losses. It also hopes to increase the ability of people living in developing countries--within local government, national government, and within civil society--to lead evidence-based efforts to build resilience and to mount their own responses when disaster strikes.
