After a hurricane impacts a coastal area with significant flooding, it is imperative that data be collected to document the event to assist in response, recovery, and mitigation efforts, and to improve disaster preparedness and prevention efforts for future disasters.
Wind Water Line (WWL) data collection is an initial step in accurately documenting an event. These data help place the event in historical perspective and improve the ability to estimate current flood risk and future event prediction.
