Best practices of communities affected by disasters in Bangladesh, India and Nepal


This project identifies and documents the best practices from communities affected by disasters in Nepal, India and Bangladesh with the purpose of capacity strengthening. The DRR related best practices discussed in the document include (i) the establishment of a grain bank in for disaster risk reduction (ii) drought and flood tolerant paddies (iii)disaster education in schools and; (iv) DRR education and cooperative livelihood program. The document was written with community managed disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation as the central focus and is being implemented in partnership by 67 NGOs.
