This article discusses the capabilities of the iPhone and Android apps for use in emergency management, and more specifically to enable better access to reference, training, and educational material to make informed decisions in the field, without carrying around a library in a Mobile ICS command post’s trunk. It presents the advantages in terms of cost reduction and accessibility of information and introduces several references and technologies already available for portable devices.
