This document reports on a workshop aimed at developing academic materials on cities and climate change with one of the prioritized areas being Urban Disaster Risk Reduction in the age of Climate Change (working group 3). The objectives of the working group 3 are: (i) to help students understand the concept of vulnerability, disaster, risk and resilience, and how understanding these are essential for climate change adaptation action; (ii) to impart knowledge necessary for students to understand the disaster management cycle; (iii) to understand underlying vulnerability and risk factors; (iv) to impart skills on how to assess vulnerability and risks in urban areas; and (v) to understand and apply urban resilience in urban planning and implementation processes.
