This report deals with the UNESCO Office Jakarta three-year project entitled 'Strengthening Resilience of Coastal and Small Island Communities towards Hydro-meteorological Hazards and Climate Change Impacts (StResCom)'. This project was launched in response to the need to increase awareness on hydro-meteorological hazards and climate change impacts of vulnerable communities.
The activities of the project include:
- Mainstreaming the project concept to regional, national, and local government programmes in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Timor Leste, which will involve development of strategic partnerships with related stakeholders and sectors to obtain their support and involvement.
- Developing hydro-meteorological hazards and climate change educational and awareness-raising materials for Indonesia, the Philippines, and Timor Leste that are based on local contexts and knowledge.
- Developing community training modules for hydro-meteorological disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation for the region, taking case studies of Indonesia, the Philippines, and Timor Leste.
