This publication focuses on the 2009 L'Aquila earthquake, addressing historical and present seismicity of the Aquilano region, the quake's specific site effects, its consequences on structures and infrastructures, and various aspects of its aftermath and reconstruction. It aims at providing a valuable post-earthquake report and at exposing some of the most relevant lessons learned from the disaster.
