Technical primer on climate change in the Philippines

COMSTE conference engineering resilience, confronting risk beyond adaptation, 15 & 16 March 2010, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila:

This report discusses what is expected to happen in the Philippines as climate change progresses, and what appropriate courses of action must be taken to address its adverse effects. It addresses: (i) the direct effects of climate change, such as sea level rise, rainfall, tropical cyclones, public health, energy, forests and terrestrial ecosystems, agriculture, water resources, marine resources, etc.; and (ii) responding to climate change, including adaptation, responsibility, trees and cows, and strategic roles. It also presents the many unknowns and uncertainties in future Philippine conditions which should be weighed when selecting responses that will make the best use of our limited resources.
