Bangkok declaration on disaster risk reduction in Asia and the Pacific 2014

A declaration in which the Ministers and Heads of Delegation of the countries of Asia and the Pacific, attending the Sixth Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR), recognize the achievements of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005–2015 (HFA) and support the development of the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction (HFA2).

It calls on governments and stakeholders: (i) to enhance resilience at local levels; (ii) to improving public investments for disaster and climate risk management to protect and sustain development gains; (iii) for private sector to encourage a shift from response-oriented actions to risk-informed investments as part of the business process; (iv) to promote the use and further development of science, technology, and innovation; (v) to enhance governance, transparency and accountability; (vi) to contribute to the global deliberations on the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction; and (vii) to build coherence between the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction and the concurrent processes on the sustainable development goals and climate change arrangements.
