UN General Assembly 67th session: Statement delivered at the General Debate - Belarus

A statement delivered to the 67th General Assembly annual General Debate by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Belarus, in which he presented climate change as the central and defining challenge of contemporary times and as the ‘wall’ that separates the current and future generations from a prosperous future. "Our efforts in all other areas will prove futile, if we fail in the main," he said, calling on the preservation of the life-giving ecosystem of the Earth. He urged for comprehensive international co-operation and for moving decisively ahead with implementing the individual elements of the 'New Green Deal' started at the Rio+20 international conference on sustainable development.
