Third session of the regional platform for disaster risk reduction in the Americas: Statement by Trinidad and Tobago

A declaration in which the government of Trinidad and Tobago described the three pillars of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) and reported on the achievements of the country, in terms of: (i) legislative authority; (ii) readiness, with situation awareness, communications, public education for massive earthquake, policy development for water resource management, food, shelter, post-disaster debris management, logistics management and supply chain management, as well as urban risk programs and business continuity management; (iii) risk reduction, through early warning system upgrade, risk mapping, needs assessment and capacity building.
