DesignBuild Source features UNISDR's Making Cities Resilient: My City is Getting Ready! campaign, which urges local governments to commit to creating resilient cities and calls for support from federal governments to enhance local training and capacities. Better Cities Now lists five factors that help to make a city resilient: establishing feedback loops, communication in terms of responsiveness, system autonomy or independently operating systems and finally, investment in events that build a sense of community and raise disaster awareness.
