Cape Town - The World Bank (WB) puts Yemen in its core priorities in terms of logistical and material support in coordination with the donor countries, including Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, senior official at the WB said Friday.
This came at the sidelines of the 2012 Understanding Risk Forum which took place from July 2-6 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Executive manager of reconstruction fund of Hadramout and Mahrah provinces Abdullah al-Mut'afi reviewed, during his meeting with Manager for the World Bank's Disaster Risk Management Practice Group and Head of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) Secretariat Francis Ghesquiere, the funds activities on restructuring what had been destroyed by the 2008-heavy rain.
Al-Mut'afi also asserted the care of the President and Premier over the recommendations of the WB and their keenness to set up a new mechanism in order to face natural disaster.
"The President had directed to accelerate the establishment of a fund of risks managements", he added.
In return, the GFDRR head pointed out that he will work in coordination with the WB Chairman of the Regional Centre in the Middle East over ways of providing urgent support to establish the risk management fund, including Hadramout and Mahrah fund.
