The Australian government will help Bali to strengthen its disaster management system, reports The Jakarta Post. Bali is vulnerable to natural disasters such as tsunami, volcanic eruptions or earthquakes.
Australia has already been supporting disaster related human resources in Bali, have offered disaster management trainings to the Indonesian Red Cross, and there are plans to upgrade the Bali Emergency Center for Disaster Management. The center provides data and information, early warning system services, disaster response operations and emergency service response and it operates 24 hours a day. In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between Sanglah Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital in Australia’s Northern Territory.
