Thailand: Flood-prevention plans need vigilance

A UK based risk modeling firm, which has recently launched its flood model and hazard map for insurance firms, is urging the Thai government to maintain existing flood defence projects and to develop a database on flood defences, reports Bangkok Post. JBA's director believes that insurance companies should help with providing data to aid flood risk assessments. Climate change and the La Nina effect are increasing the chances of flooding.
