Disasters: Be prepared regionally

Thailand’s Ministry of Interior’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is asking the the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management to aid intra-regional cooperation to combat future natural disasters, reports TTR Weekly.

As a chair of ACDM, “DDPM will encourage ways to provide assistance to member nations that suffer large-scale disasters in the future. We will need to cooperate with the UN and the East Asia Summit, to offer timely help to ASEAN member countries when disaster hits,” said Viboon Sanguanpong, general director of DDPM.
