Indian Ocean Rim pledges co-operation in tackling piracy, natural disasters


The Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Co-operation (IOR-ARC) vowed greater co-operation in addressing a number of regional challenges, notably piracy and disasters — natural and human-related — reports the Oman Daily Observer. The Rim community resolved to support efforts in building the preparedness of member states in dealing with disasters in the region — an area regularly devastated by cyclones, monsoon floods and other natural disasters.
