Dominica: Office of Disaster Management observes international day of natural disaster reduction

Dominica has had numerous events during the recent past with many of the victims being children. Given Dominica's geographical position and landscape coupled with the issues of climate change it is likely that the island will continue to be vulnerable to natural and man-made hazards, according to Dominica News Online.

That is why the Office of Disaster Management continues to focus on the disaster management aspect which includes planning, preparing, mitigating for reducing vulnerability and risk.

The international day for disaster reduction is being recognized by the Office of Disaster Management through the launch their official webpage.
