GAR extensive risk-poverty analysis

A discussion around the "disaster-poverty interface" is being initiated within the context of providing focused inputs to the 2009 ISDR Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction. The objective of this discussion is to analyse the mutual impacts between disaster risks and poverty trends. The analysis will be guided by findings from the ongoing extensive risk analysis in countries across Asia, Latin America, and detailed country case studies from other regions where data for extensive risk analysis is presently unavailable. Additionally, the findings of the extensive risk analysis will be compared with relevant poverty data in these locations - based on a methodology proposed by this discussion group.
