Asian Disaster Reduction Response Network
Their main aim is to promote coordination, information sharing and collaboration among NGOs and other stakeholders for effective and efficient disaster reduction and response in the Asia-Pacific region.
Asian University Network of Environment and Disaster Management (AUEDM)
AUEDM is a network of universities undertaking education and research in the field of environment and disaster management. AUEDM was established in 2008 with 14 members, and as of January 2011, consists of 22 universities from 17 countries and areas. The network is hosted in Kyoto University Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies. The network has one president, two vice presidents (education and research), and an Executive board. The board runs for 3 years, and currently consists of 7 members from Asian universities. Additionally, there are observers and /or advisors which also include civil society (NGOs).
The aims of the network are:
1. To share and work together in promoting environment and disaster management in higher education
2. To collaborate on field-based and policy oriented research
3. To broaden the scope of education and learning with other stakeholders
4. To document, develop and disseminate knowledge products
5. To provide a forum for consultation, information sharing and cooperation among universities on matters and themes of common interest
6. To enhance recognition of the vital role of universities in implementation-oriented education and research in environment and disaster management

CapHaz-Net
CapHaz-Net is a broad extended network on social capacity building for natural hazards. It is composed of scholars, decision-makers, and practitioners from across Europe, such as NGOs, river basin management officers, planners, representatives of the insurance industry and so on.

There were many different ways of how you can get involved in CapHaz-Net:
- Registering on our website in order to receive the latest information of CapHaz-Net including policies briefs and other documents.
- Sending us insights of practitioners' and researchers' work they considered as relevant or provide good (or poor) practices in the field of natural hazards.
- Inviting a number of experts, stakeholders etc. for each Thematic Meeting and the Regional Hazard Workshops.

Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN)
The Climate and Development Knowledge Network is managed by an alliance of organisations led by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), and including Fundación Futuro Latinoamericano, INTRAC, LEAD International, the Overseas Development Institute, and SouthSouthNorth supporting 'climate compatible development'.
The team brings together a wide range of experience across the fields of climate change and development, research, policy development, knowledge management, networking and capacity-building, as well as substantial expertise in the management of global initiatives. CDKN can provide technical assistance and research, supporting knowledge sharing and partnership development in Africa, the Americas and Asia.
The £50 million Climate and Development Knowledge Network, funded over five years by DFID, will link 60 developing countries with leading climate and development experts, allowing them to commission and share knowledge on how best to tackle the effects of climate change.
Duryog Nivaran
Duryog Nivaran is a research, training and advocacy network committed to promoting disaster risk reduction in South Asia at policy and community level. It strives to build the knowledge base of stakeholders by sharing research findings, information, experiences and insights on emerging issues of disaster management in the countries and among the communities of the region.
Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction
The Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction was launched during the Global Platform in June 2007. The goal of this network is to strengthen civil society efforts to build resilience against disasters. The Global Network aims to increase civil society participation in public policy debates and raise its level of influence in global DRR policy and practice.
Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR)
The Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR) is a global partnership comprised of UN agencies, international and regional NGOs as well as specialist institutes that collectively aim to influence policy, enhance implementation and better coordinate efforts in environmental management for disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and sustainable livelihoods. It promotes ecosystems management as the key strategy to reduce disaster risk, increase local resilience and adapt to a changing climate. As a global thematic platform of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR) system, PEDRR works to reduce underlying risk factors related to the environment and mainstreams ecosystems-based DRR in development planning processes at global, regional, national and local levels.
