CLOSED: Information and documentation manager

Background

Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) under the grant agreement with the Mekong River Commission Secretariat (MRC) is supporting the implementation of the Component 4: Flood Emergency Management Strengthening (FEMS) of the MRC’s Flood Mitigation and Management Programme (FMMP) funded by GTZ (2004-2010) as well as ECHO (since 2003 in phases) in Cambodia, Thailand, Lao PDR, and Vietnam. ADPC is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Information and Documentation Manager.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree with proven record in information and documentation management. Further specializations in flood-related disaster risk reduction or development studies will be viewed as an added advantage.
• Ability to design and prepare high quality reports and meeting/workshop/conference proceedings; proven ability to design, produce, and ensure delivery of context-specific public awareness and IEC materials related to disaster management
• Experience of more than five years in information and documentation management and working experience in Asia and Pacific region will be preferred.
• Work experience with Disaster Management organization, (I)NGOs, IOs, UN agencies, and other disaster management-related institutions
• Excellent computer skills especially in word-processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation and graphic design software.
• Excellent command of English, in written and spoken and ability to write reports and proposals.
• Proven ability to plan and organize work independently.
• Practical experience working in a multi-cultural team and ability to work independently and for long hours and under pressure.
• Willingness and availability to travel periodically under sometimes adverse conditions.
