Mission & Disaster Reduction Profile

The ProVention Consortium (September 2000-January 2010) was a global coalition of governments, international organizations, academic institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations aimed at reducing disaster impacts in developing countries. The Consortium functioned as a network to share knowledge, connect and leverage resources to reduce disaster risk. Its mission was to help developing countries build sustainable and successful economies and to reduce the human suffering that too often results from natural and technological catastrophes.
