To establish an effective network of partners and organise communities for poverty alleviation and human development.
To protect communities living in PPAF program areas from harm, caused due to the onset of recurrent disasters, and reduce the risk of loss and damage to PPAF's development initiatives
Community Based Disaster Management Program:
- Build response capacities of communities
- Integrating DRR in development
- promote a culture of preparedness and make communities safer by reducing risk of hazards
Including DRR in PPAF's core programmes
Local level HVCA and identify community level EW systems: mobile phones, Mosque loud speakers and hooters, local radio networks etc.
Imparting knowledge on internationally practiced disaster management subjects.
PPAF other programmes include: Livelihood Protection, Environmental Safeguards, Infrastructure Development and Mitigation Projects, Water and Energy Projects and Health and Education Programs. These programmes address the underlying risk factors to a great extent
- Providing community trainings in disaster management,
- Establishing community level organisations: Disaster Management Committees and Emergency Response Teams
- Providing stockpiles of emergency stores
- Simulations
