ISDR Partnership

What is the ISDR Partnership?
ISDR is a system of partnerships.
These partnerships are composed of a broad range of actors.

Purpose
The overall objective of the ISDR Partnership is to generate and support a global disaster risk reduction movement to reduce risk to disasters.
Governments, United Nations System, Regional bodies, International Financial Institutions, Non-governmental actors.
Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, National Platforms, Regional Platforms, Thematic Platforms, ISDR Support Group, ISDR System, Management Oversight Board, ISDR Inter-Agency Group, Scientific and Technical Committee, and the ISDR Secretariat (UNISDR).
The Global Platform is the main global forum for continued and concerted emphasis on disaster reduction. As such, it provides a forum.
The UN General Assembly, through its Second Committee, remains the principal decision-making body for intergovernmental governance of the ISDR System.
