Climate change-fueled drought drives Sri Lanka’s farmers to cities

Extreme weather events such as droughts and floodings linked to climate change result in failing harvests and, ultimately, farmers moving to the city. One-fifth of the Sri Lankan population is an internal migrant as a result of the worst drought in 40 years that has hit the country.
