Registration for the Open-ended Intergovernmental Expert Working Group on Indicators and Terminology Relating to Disaster Risk Reduction

Intersessional work and third session

A. Background

The participation of other stakeholders in the work of the OIEWG is enshrined in UN General Assembly resolution 69/284 which “encourages relevant bodies and organizations of the United Nations system, as well as relevant intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders, to make contributions, as appropriate, to the work of the working group”.

At the first formal session, the Working Group agreed that other stakeholders would be welcome to support the discussions and the future work of the Working Group including through briefings and documentations. Such contributions would be for technical information purposes only.

Following the completion of the first and second session of the OIEWG, the Third and final session (formal and informal) will take place from 14-18 November 2016 in Room XIX in the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

B. Others Stakeholders - already registered

Those stakeholders who had successfully registered for the first and/or second session of the OIEWG (following an internal screening process of applicants) will be considered as automatically registered for the third session and the inter-sessional work.

C. Other Stakeholders – first time registration

Other stakeholders (those not nominated by Member or Observer States) wishing to contribute to the inter-sessional work and/or the Third Session must complete the online registration form (see link below). Once the application has been reviewed by the UNISDR Secretariat, applicants will receive a notification on their registration status.
